Dame Zaha Hadid was a master of architecture, an example, a genius who gave shape to dreams. She will always be remembered as a pioneer, a leading woman in a field usually ruled by men.

Her life will inspire women from all over the world to be brave and aspire to greatness. SHOT magazine is proud to present you a selection of images of the Heydar Aliyev Center, a cultural centre in Baku, Azerbaijan. This building was made with the intention to embrace the public entering the location; a welcoming place where the contemporary vision of the Zaha Hadid Architects and the tradition of Azeri culture are mixed, creating a functional piece of art.

The following images capture the essence of Dame Zaha Hadid's building vision. They are taken by one of the most influential architectural photographers in the world, Hélène Binet, a Swiss-French professional who lives in London.

“I don't think you can teach architecture. You can only inspire people.” Dame Zaha Hadid.
